American Sniper Suspect Said He Had To Kill Someone

Eddie Ray Routh, defendant in the ‘American Sniper’ trial for allegedly murdering Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield, told his sister he had to kill someone that day, the New York Post reported yesterday. Routh is currently on trial in Texas for the murders of Kyle and Littlefield while he was a gun range with them.

“I knew if I did not take his soul, he was going to take mine,” the New York Post quoted Routh as saying about his alleged murder of American Sniper Chris Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield, “I told [my sister] I had to kill a man today. It wasn’t a want to. It was a need. I was going to be the next one up there getting my head shot.”

Routh claimed he sat in the backseat of Kyle’s truck during the ride to the shooting range, and that Kyle and Littlefield didn’t talk to him during that ride. The prosecution contends he was also under the influence of alcohol and marijuana while he allegedly murdered American Sniper Chris Kyle.

Fox 2 News of St. Louis reported that Gene Cole of the Erath County Sheriff’s Office testified in the ‘American Sniper’ trail that, on June 22, 2013, he heard Routh say, “I shot them because they wouldn’t talk to me. I was just riding in the back seat of the truck and nobody would talk to me. They were just taking me to the range so I shot them. I feel bad about it, but they wouldn’t talk to me. I’m sure they’ve forgiven me.”

American Sniper Chris Kyle and Littlefield were reportedly shot in the back several times each by Routh, who allegedly left the scene driving Kyle’s truck before being arrested. Routh’s lawyers claim he was insane when he allegedly killed American Sniper Chris Kyle.

Routh had to murder American Sniper Chris Kyle that day, theInquisitr reported, because he had become a Muslim terrorist sympathizer and therefore wanted the U.S. Navy Seal, and subject of the film American Sniper, dead for his service in Iraq.

“The trial of the alleged killer of the late U.S. Navy SEAL, Chris Kyle, the subject of the movie American Sniper, begins soon in Texas, as the Inquisitr reported a few days ago. Information is coming out that suggests the suspect, Eddie Ray Routh, who is accused of killing Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield, might be a Muslim terrorist sympathizer who might have become a convert to Islam while serving in Iraq as a prison guard at Balad Air Base. Routh is reportedly planning to plead not guilty by reason of insanity, theInquisitr reported.
