‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Lacks Sizzle, Leaves Moviegoers Underwhelmed

Fifty Shades of Grey is becoming one of the fastest selling movies on Valentine’s Day weekend. However, that doesn’t mean the movie is as hot as it was promised to be. Some moviegoers were underwhelmed when leaving the theater after the Fifty Shades of Grey film.

According to Delaware Online, the movie has received mixed reviews for Delaware residents. Movie critics expected to see more sex in Christian Grey’s “Red Room of Pain.” The Fifty Shades of Grey movie also promised to have a sex scene that lasted just under 20 minutes. That was enough for Malaysia’s Film Censorship Board to ban the release of the film.

Writer Margie Fishman also gave her review to Delaware Online.

“Like several others, I was disappointed by the awkward chemistry between Dornan and Johnson. Dornan is stoic to the extreme, while Johnson’s sarcasm adds welcome moments of levity. When she whispers in that husky way, it’s as if she’s channeling her mother, actress Melanie Griffith.”

Another contributor on the Standard Examiner wasn’t even impressed with the first installment of the Fifty Shades of Grey film. The writer said that the movie “lacked sizzle.”

“Sadly, there’s not much chemistry between Johnson and Dornan, and the highly anticipated sex scenes don’t sizzle.”

A young couple Katie Dickson, 18, and Rory McLean, 19 saw the film but were also left feeling a little underwhelmed as it did nothing to spice up their love life. Katie told the Herald Scotland that she wasn’t interested in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie at all.

“I wanted to see it because of all the hype surrounding the film but I wasn’t impressed at all. I was expecting it to be a lot better than it actually was. I didn’t like it and I thought the acting wasn’t very believable and Dakota wasn’t very convincing. Her acting wasn’t up to scratch.”

Rory said he thought “it was tastefully done” but he “hated the first half an hour” of the movie.

Both critics and moviegoers have been sharing their own reviews about Fifty Shades of Grey on social media. Moviegoers weren’t impressed with the sex scenes, while critics didn’t approve of the dialogue. Some critics even called Jamie Dornan, who plays Christian Grey in the film, “wooden” and “boring.”

There are also some advocating a boycott, according to the Inquisitr. An online campaign called #50dollarsnot50shades urged moviegoers to boycott the Fifty Shades of Grey film. The campaign is also seeking donations to support battered women, saying that the movie glamorizes violence against women.

The Fifty Shades of Grey movie isn’t winning everyone over, despite its huge box office numbers, also reported on the Inquisitr. Everyone from Forbes to Madonna have also trashed the film. Despite the bad reviews, the Fifty Shades of Grey movie is still increasing the general public’s interest in bondage, domination, kink sex and sex toys.
