Will ‘The Real Housewives Of New Jersey’ Go On Without Teresa Giudice? Andy Cohen Speaks

The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s future is currently up in the air as its unofficial star, Teresa Giudice, spends time behind bars. And while a potential seventh season of the series may not be confirmed for months, creator Andy Cohen recently spoke out about the ideas being thrown around behind the scenes.

“I can’t imagine not filming The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” Cohen told Us Weekly on Friday, according to a February 14 report. “It’s a big franchise for Bravo, and I think whatever we do, we’re going to do it the right way, so we’re still figuring that out right now.”

Giudice entered into a 15-month prison term on January 5 and is expected to be released from custody early next year. Her husband, Joe, will begin his 41-month prison term when her sentence is complete.

According to Cohen, he and other Bravo executives have thought about the possibility of filming Giudice behind bars. However, because of the prison’s guidelines, they may be unable.

“I don’t know the specifics of what they allow, but I can’t see them allowing [us to film people visiting her in prison].”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Jim Marchese recently spoke out about Giudice’s possible return to The Real Housewives of New Jersey. In a February 6 interview with the New York Daily News’ Confidenti@l, Marchese claimed he would be happy to see Giudice booted from the series.

“I don’t think she should be on the show any longer. I think glorifying a felon’s life is counterproductive, and I don’t think it’s appropriate.”

Marchese went on to explain that while Giudice may be a big name, she shouldn’t be awarded fame and fortune when she’s participated in criminal behavior.

Over the years, many housewives have come and gone from The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Ahead of Season 6, Caroline Manzo left the series, as did Jacqueline Laurita, who later returned. Dina Manzo also recently came back to the series after taking a few seasons off.

Most recently, twins Nicole Napolitano and Teresa Aprea joined the series with Amber Marchese. During Season 6, the three women were featured as full-time housewives, along with Giudice and her sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga, who has been with the show since Season 3. Kathy Wakile appeared on the series, as well, but was seen only in a part-time role.

Giudice and her family have been featured on The Real Housewives of New Jersey since Season 1.
