NBA Trade Rumors: Rockets And Lakers Still Seeking Goran Dragic, But Price May Have Gotten Higher

The NBA trade rumors for weeks have focused on Goran Dragic, but now it appears the Phoenix Suns guard might be off the market.

Dragic is set to become an unrestricted free agent after this season, and the Suns already have guards Eric Bledsoe and Isaiah Thomas, making Dragic a logical option to move at the trade deadline. But new reports indicate that the Suns are pulling Dragic off the trade block and instead focusing on moving Thomas instead.

This week, ESPN’s Marc Stein reported that the Suns have changed their mind and may want to hold onto Goran Dragic.

The previous NBA trade rumors indicated that the Suns wanted at least a first round pick in exchange for Goran Dragic, but if he is still up for grabs, the price has likely gotten higher.

There are still a few teams that want to change Phoneix’s mind. Sources say that the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers are trying to persuade the Suns to part with Dragic by this week’s deadline.

The Suns still appear to be active come the trade deadline, though President of Operations Lon Babby wouldn’t say if Dragic was likely to move.

“I would take the fifth, generally, on any of these specific trade rumors,” Babby told the Arizona Republic. “What I would say is I expect us to be active. And what I mean by that is we’re not going to just sit here and wait for the phone to ring. We’ll be initiating calls to every team, and taking the temperature of what’s out there and what’s available. And it wouldn’t surprise me at all if we do something between now and next Thursday.”

There isn’t much more time for the NBA trade rumors regarding Goran Dragic to either pan out or fizzle. The trade deadline is next Thursday.
