Leah Messer-Calvert Is ‘Blessed,’ Despite Alleged Salon Investigation

Leah Messer-Calvert isn’t letting the drama surrounding her salon get her down. On Friday, the Teen Mom 2 star took to Twitter, where she shared a happy message about her family with her fans online.

On February 13, Leah Messer-Calvert shared the following tweet.

Earlier this week, after announcing she was the owner and stylist of Be Glossy, a salon service in West Virginia, reports claimed Leah Messer-Calvert was operating illegally.

On February 9, as reported by the Inquisitr, a spokesperson for the West Virginia State Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists claimed the business was headed for an investigation.

“This business is very much illegal,” the spokesperson told Radar Online. “We will be launching an investigation.”

In addition to Messer-Calvert’s alleged lack of certifications, the spokesperson claimed it was illegal for her to be offering on-location services.

“They have to have an actual shop. They need a location for clients to go.”

After the report hit the web, Messer-Calvert’s business partner, Leslee Pannell, spoke to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, denying the business was operating illegally. At the time, Pannell claimed she had yet to be contacted by the board, and said that despite Messer-Calvert being listed as a “stylist” on the company’s official website, she “hasn’t done hair or makeup for anything.”

Although Pannell was insistent that she and Messer-Calvert weren’t doing anything illegal, their company’s website, BeGlossy.net, has since gone offline.

As the Inquisitr reported on February 12, the site is currently inaccessible, and displays an error message when visited.

While the site’s demise doesn’t appear to be a great sign for Leah Messer-Calvert, she and her partner confirmed there was a future for the business on Facebook earlier this week.

“We will protect our reputation and ourselves. This is a future career we believe in. Thank you for the support. Success doesn’t come without setbacks and haters. We aren’t afraid of either.”

Since appearing on Teen Mom 2, Messer-Calvert has been attempting to establish a career. In addition to her nursing ventures, the mother of three announced plans to open her own tanning salon. Unfortunately, neither idea panned out.

For more Leah Messer-Calvert, tune into Teen Mom 2 season six when it returns to MTV later this year. Both she and her ex-husband, Corey Simms, are expected to return to the series with their families.
