Fearless Grandmother Stands Up To ISIS: ‘Devils, Your State Is Cursed’ [Video]

A brave granny was recently filmed standing up to two ISIS militants. In the footage believed to have been filmed in Syria, the elderly woman confronted the militants boldly, calling them “devils.” She delivered a powerful sermon, quoting verses from the Koran to support her argument that Islam forbids bloodshed.

The two ISIS fighters were sitting in a car when the unidentified old woman approached them and pronounced a curse on them and their militant group, saying that they did not have God’s backing as they thought.

The video shows the granny confronting the militants. She calls them “devils” and condemns ISIS’s murderous campaign, saying, “I swear nothing you have done was in the way of God.”

She tells them that neither ISIS nor the Syrian leader, Bashar al-Assad, would come out victorious in the bloodletting. She admonishes them to seek peace, saying, “Do not slaughter anyone and nobody will slaughter you.”

“Do not slaughter anyone and nobody will slaughter you. It’s all forbidden. I swear nothing you have done was in the way of God. God is watching what you are doing.”

At first, the militants, taken aback by the old woman’s fearlessness, try to appease her.

They ask, “Grandmother what do you mean? Surely, it is right between us.”

But the old woman refuses to tone down her harsh criticism. She chooses instead to escalate the confrontation. With her wizened face contorted with fury, she accuses them of killing people “like donkeys” and “making us go backwards.”

“This slaughter is forbidden. I swear nothing you have done was in the way of God. Not one of you will win anything, not you or Bashar. It’s all s*** making us go backward. None of you is good. God will not stop the regime nor will he make you successful.”

The militants soon begin to lose patience with the old woman and tell her to leave them alone. But the little old lady continues to berate them. She tells them sternly to stop the killings and bloodshed and to “turn back to God.”

She then begins to recite verses from the Koran, advising Muslims against engaging in bloodshed when differences could be settled peacefully. She says, “You don’t want this slaughtering, nor do you want this murder.”

“If two parties of the believers quarrel, make peace between them. But if one of them acts wrongfully towards the other, fight that which acts wrongfully. You don’t want this slaughtering, nor do you want this murder.”

The men begin to mock the old woman. One of them responds to her call for peace, repeating an ISIS slogan, “We have come to you with slaughter.”

But the woman continues to issue condemnation against ISIS, quoting the Koran.

“We did destroy generations before you when they were unjust. We recompense the guilty. God is watching what you are doing. Those who deny our verses and are arrogant towards them, the gates of heaven will not be opened for them, nor will they enter paradise.”

The footage cuts out suddenly at this point and it is uncertain what happened to the old woman, but it is unlikely they harmed her.

The video emerges at a time of escalating violence in the region, as U.S.-led forces conduct airstrikes against ISIS installations and positions in Syria and Iraq.

The U.S. has claimed success in its air campaign, saying that recent strikes are crippling the capacity of the militants to wage war.
