Vince Vaughn on Jennifer Aniston: Attention From Media Was A Lot For Him To Handle

Vince Vaughn talked about Jennifer Aniston and the attention she receives in the press in a new interview in Playboy Magazine. The actor knows a bit about the constant pressure the actress lives under because of the media and the way they focus in on her love life. He dated Aniston for a year following her split from Brad Pitt in 2005.

According to Us Weekly, Vince Vaughn spoke out about Jennifer Aniston, his current marriage, and several other topics in the new Playboy interview. He did not talk down about Aniston, but he admitted that all the paparazzi attention while they were dating was not easy on him.

“For me personally — and I think most well-known actors who are together feel this way — I never enjoyed the paparazzi side of it. You like someone and you’re spending time with them; that’s separate and that was all fine. But I really spent most of that time finding ways not to be drawn into the attention. I think lying low and not talking about it put me in a good position later. Because I just wasn’t part of anything.”

Vince finally did settle down. He married Kyla Weber in 2010, and the couple now has two children together. In the interview, he said marriage is the “hardest thing I think you’ll ever do.” He is glad he waited until he was ready to settle down.

According to Gossip Cop, Vaughn also spoke about his past and his thoughts on how women are treated by men in today’s society. When Playboy asked the actor about his role on Swingers and his own ability to attract women, he revealed that he was never a pick-up artist. He started dating at the age of 17, and he lost his virginity at 19-years-old.

Vaughn does think things have changed over the last 20 years though. Women are treated a lot differently, and he does not agree with it.

“What I love about my character from Swingers, Trent, is how much fun he has with women. It comes from a pure and positive place. Now it’s such a different thing. Gaming on women has become almost like the dark arts. Like, if you’re not cutting her down or using psychological tricks to make fun of her, you won’t get anywhere. I would argue it’s the opposite. I would suggest that if you take the avenue of putting a woman down or making fun of her so she feels insecure enough to go out with you, you’re ultimately screwing yourself. “

Next up for Vince is a role in True Detective Season 2 on HBO. The series was a smash hit for HBO last year, and Season 2 will focus on an entirely new cast of characters. Vaughn shared a bit about the new season in the interview with Playboy, and he said this season is “very different, though. It’s a totally different story, with its own characters…”

As for Jennifer Aniston, she has only had kind things to say about Vaughn and their relationship. In an interview in 2008, the actress called Vaughn her “defibrillator.” The actor helped Aniston come back to life after the divorce from Brad Pitt brought her down.

Aniston is still dealing with a high level of media attention in her new relationship. The actress is engaged to actor Justin Theroux. The media has speculated about a lot in relation to their status and romance. Everything from their wedding date to the possibility of the couple having kids has made headlines in the tabloids.

Both Aniston and Theroux have been vocal in recent interviews about the media, and they have even told the media to stop. The latest tabloid reports have Jennifer Aniston marrying Justin Theroux this spring in Mexico.

What do you think of Vince Vaughn’s comments about Aniston and the attention she receives in the media? Does she receive too much?
