This season seems to be a bit of a spotty one for Big Bang Theory fans, and has been riddled with breaks. According to International Business Times, it looks like Big Bang Theory is facing yet another short hiatus. The next episode — which guest stars Nathan Fillion, as well as pays tribute to the late Carol Ann Susi (Howard Wolowitz’s mom) — has been delayed until next week on February 19, 2015. The reason for the hiatus was not disclosed, but CBS did release a synopsis for the episode, which is entitled “The Comic Book Store Regeneration,” HWHills reports.
“Wolowitz will receive some shocking news as everyone prepares for the reopening of Stuart’s comicbook store. Penny is going to teach Sheldon how to ‘let it go,’ but can’t follow her own advice after she learns something infuriating about Amy.”
What will be the shocking news that Holowitz receives? Well, spoiler alert, according to International Business Times, Howard Wolowitz’s mother will apparently pass away while visiting friends in Florida.
It’s been known for awhile that the Big Bang Theory writers were going to pay some kind of tribute to Susi, it just wasn’t clear in what capacity it would be done, nor was it clear if someone else would take on the voice acting duties of Mrs. Wolowitz. This episode is likely to be a huge one, considering its heavy content, and unfortunately, fans will now have to wait an extra week in order to enjoy it.
“Beginning on this night (January 29), you are going to see many episodes airing throughout the month of February due to sweeps. There will most likely be another hiatus in March and possibly in April, since the show wants to also have another run of consecutive episodes in May.”
As indicated above, March and April were expected to be hiatus-heavy months, due to the producers wanting very specific Big Bang Theory episodes to air in May. What could possibly be in those episodes producers want to air in May? Sadly, we have no information on that front, but we’ll be sure to fill you in as soon as we do.
