Bill Cosby has “postponed” scheduled comedy performances in California, reports CBS. The latest Cosby comedy shows to be scuttled were ones where Bill planned to entertain audiences in Bakersfield, California. However, the beleaguered Bill Cosby has cancelled plenty of appearances lately in the wake of sexual abuse allegations brought by a long list of women. The Fox Theater’s website reported that the Thursday night Cosby show is postponed, but they do not have a date whereby Bill will return in the future. Nor did it give a reason for the Cosby cancellation, but the venue is giving ticket-holders their money back. David Brokaw — Bill Cosby’s publicist — didn’t immediately respond to a phone call from CBS about the latest cancellation.
The 77-year-old Bill Cosby recently cancelled shows in Boston and blamed the weather — as reported by the Inquisitr — but Cosby protests went on. Those Boston shows have not been rescheduled, and the cancelled Bill Cosby shows will not be rescheduled, says the Boston Globe. The list of rape allegations brought by numerous women against Cosby continues to grow, with NBC Los Angeles reporting about a press conference that took place Thursday with Gloria Allred, wherein two former models described allegedly being drugged by Bill Cosby years ago. Linda Brown claimed Cosby offered her a drink in 1969 that made her pass out, and when she regained consciousness, Brown says Bill was raping her.
“He flipped me over and sexually assaulted me. I felt like a rag doll.”
Bill Cosby’s lawyer didn’t reply to those claims of sexually assault yet, either.
The Post Gazette reports that Pittsburgh has also experienced Bill Cosby show cancellations, with Heinz Hall issuing a press release on Tuesday that stated Cosby’s shows scheduled for February 21 had been cancelled as well, and that those who purchased tickets would be given refunds. Such as in other instances of Bill Cosby show cancellations, no exact reason was provided by the venue’s management. However, a petition was launched on Change.org in recent weeks that pressured venues to cancel or postpone Bill Cosby shows until the rape allegations against Cosby have been dealt with head-on. The petition received thousands of signatures.
“Heinz Hall has been a leader in our city’s cultural revitalization and as we continue to progress in society’s recognition of rape-culture, please be a leader now.”
Quite a few other Bill Cosby Change.org petitions are active, from protestors hoping their online petitions will enact future cancellations of Bill Cosby shows.
