Chris Hemsworth, Elsa Pataky Expecting First Child

Chris Hemsworth has confirmed that a mini-Thor could be on the way. The Snow White and the Huntsman and Thor actor and his wife Elsa Pataky are expecting their first child, with his rep confirming the news to People.

Although the couple has held back from finding out the gender of their child, they won’t have to wait long to find out – the new arrival is expected in the spring. Speaking to Hola! magazine, mom-to-be Pataky said:

“Chris and I are ecstatic, very happy and excited. Since it’s our first child we don’t care if it’s a boy or girl, our only wish is that it’s healthy.”

The 35-year-old Pataky also revealed that she expected Hemsworth, who is seven years her junior, to improve his Spanish. Otherwise, raising mini-Thor may prove … confusing for the actor:

“I’m only going to speak to the baby in Spanish. I already told my husband, ‘Get ready fast with Spanish because, if not, you’re not going to be able to understand what we say.”

Pataky admitted to Hola! that pregnancy cravings have wrecked her once healthy diet. She’s even finding new ways to be unhealthy, such as pigging out on foods she never previously tried – like popcorn (how anyone gets to 35 without trying popcorn was not addressed by the mag):

“Everything healthy I used to like, I now don’t like. All of a sudden, the only things that sound good to me are all the sweets in the world, hamburgers, and french fries.”

Congrats to the parents-to-be!
