Malcolm X’s Daughter Ilyasah Shabazz Fine With Whites Using N-Word Since Blacks Sing It

When it comes to African American rappers using the n-word repeatedly during many rap songs, Malcom X’s daughter, Ilyasah Shabazz, believes it has gotten to the point of being ridiculous. At the same time, she feels that if black singers can use the N-Word then why can’t white singers?

In a related report by the Inquisitr, when it comes to black history, most Americans don’t know that less than 10 percent of all slaves from Africa went to North America. But the interesting part is the reason for why it’s not often spoken about in history class.

Malcom X’s daughter admits she listens to hip-hop and rap, but at the same time she seems to think the N-Word is used too often.

“I think it’s just ridiculous sometimes. I think it is. I think it’s a bit ridiculous, yeah,” Shabazz said.

When she was asked by TMZ if white people in the music industry should be allowed to drop the N-Bomb in their lyrics, she said something that may surprise many.

“I mean, you know, I think if we’re going to… I don’t know that you can… If you’re going to use it, then everybody should be able to use it, right?” Shabazz argues. “So if you don’t like other people using it, then we shouldn’t use it.”

American history now looks back at Malcom X as being one of the most famous human rights activists in modern times. Ilyasah Shabazz, who has written books about her father’s legacy, recently released X: A Novel. Although she feels not enough has been done since his passing, she believes the current generation has a chance of seeing major change.

“[The current generation is] understanding and appreciating the fact that [Malcom X] was a very young man who sacrificed a lot, that he was killed at a very young age and in 12 short years he gave a… He made a significant impact around the world when people weren’t even traveling,” Shabazz said. “And that he wasn’t traveling for vacation but he was traveling because he was searching for solutions to the human condition that would oppress its fellow brother, sister. So I think that this generation is going to change that.”

Ilyasah Shabazz was also asked if Malcom X would have voted for President Barack Obama.

“I would imagine,” she responded according to Eurweb. “He’s a very strong candidate.”

What do you think about Ilyasah Shabazz saying that white people should be allowed to use the N-Word? Do you think the black community should encourage rappers and hip-hop singers to stop using the word?
