Pilot Tried To Warn Lauren Scruggs About Propeller [NTSA Report]

Lauren Scurggs could have saved herself a lot of physical agony had she simply heeded the warning of the planes pilot that took her hand and stayed where he placed her, at least that’s what the pilot is saying.

According to the unidentified man he physically guided Lauren away from the play sand thought she remained at a safe distance until he heard her cries.

The pilot, believes to be Curt Richmond of Frisco, Texas gave his recollection of events to investigators during a preliminary report by the National Transportation Safety Administration. In his report he noted that he “leaned out of his seat and placed his right hand and arm in front of her to divert her away from the front of the airplane and the propeller.”

The report goes on to state:

“He continued to keep his arm extended and told the passenger that she should walk behind the airplane.”

After believing his passenger was safe he returned to his normal seat position and quickly heard someone scream “Stop, Stop” as the planes propeller continued to spin.

The incident which occurred on Dec. 3 left Scruggs with a missing left hand and left eye.

According to reports Lauren Scruggs‘ family doesn’t blame the pilot even though some aviation experts wonder why the propeller was still running as a passenger was exiting the plane.

Do you believe that the pilot was at fault for not turning off the planes propeller as passengers exited the seating area or was his personal guidance away from the plane enough?
