Maia Campbell Arrested For Disorderly Conduct In Restaurant

Former TV star Maia Campbell was recently arrested at a Georgia restaurant.

TMZ reports that the former In the House actress got arrested at a Waffle House in Riverdale last weekend for causing a drunken scene.

Police told TMZ that they were dispatched to the restaurant and initially gave Maia Campbell an opportunity to leave the establishment on her own. However, the 38-year-old actress reportedly declined their offer.

Campbell was escorted outside of the restaurant in handcuffs and later booked for disorderly conduct.

This is the second time so far this year that Maia Campbell has been arrested for her behavior inside of a restaurant. The first arrest occurred in a Burger King in Atlanta.

According to TMZ, the police report for that incident states that Maia used profane language to verbally attack a family, accusing their child of stealing her wallet.

The report also claims that Maia Campbell called the police officer who arrested her a “f**king f****t.”

Police say that Maia denies ever using such foul language. Campbell claimed that she only spoke the “King’s language.”

Maia Campbell was featured on an episode of Iyanla: Fix My Life back in November, 2012.

Relationship expert Iyanla Vanzant supported Campbell in the episode as she came to grips with her longtime addiction to crystal meth. Campbell even took the opportunity to apologize to her stepfather, Ellis Gordon, for the “rough road” that he had traveled while trying to take care of her.

“Thank you for being there and thank you for making it easier. I knew that I didn’t belong to those places because I had someone like you to pull me up and pull me out.”

During her discussions with Vanzant about her struggles with drug addiction and bipolar disorder, Maia Campbell also expressed how her daughter provided her with a reason to get her life back on track.

Campbell openly admitted that she had some mistakes and needed to turn her life around.

“I have a daughter now and I have to set an example. That was what got me grounded in trying to do better. I have to live my life differently. I have to change the way I was living my life. I can’t live my life so far away from the positive things that kept me rooted.”

Maia also compared herself to a one-hundred dollar bill that was “all messed up” but “still worth something.”

Maia Campbell starred in numerous television shows in the 1990s — including Thea, Beverly Hills 90210 and Sister, Sister. She is perhaps most known for playing Tiffany in the hit sitcom In the House, which starred LL Cool J and Alfonso Ribeiro. In the sitcom, LL Cool J played a former professional athlete that rents out most of his home to a single mother’s family to pay the bills.
