Kate Middleton Becomes Powerful Media Magnet, With Princess Diana As Her Role Model: Meet Team Kate [Video]

When Kate Middleton was pregnant the first time, she suffered severe morning sickness for most of the time. Now, as she waits for her second baby to be born, she’s a transformed member of the royal family, staying energized despite her busy schedule that even included a trip to New York, reported Hello.

The Duchess of Cambridge, as she is formally known, once was so frail that rumors of eating disorders circulated. Now, however, Princess Kate has gained weight, and also knows how to manage her morning sickness, a pregnancy specialist revealed.

“The second pregnancy is often easier from a mental point of view as you have already gone through it before,” explained fertility expert Zita West.

As a result, Kate has been feeling so much better than during her first pregnancy that her activities have ranged from visiting New York to taking a luxurious vacation to the Caribbeans with the entire family, as the Inquisitr reported. That “babymoon” also provided an opportunity to celebrate the 60th birthday of her mother, Carole.

In New York, she even took in a basketball game, below.

The popular princess is so much in demand that she once shook hands with 60 people in 30 minutes, and artist Grayson Perry feels that Kate has become a media magnet because of her dynamic personality and charm.

“Wherever she goes, the laser beam of media attention will follow and that’s great. That’s her power and she wields that power gracefully.”

And little Prince George is following in his mother’s royal footsteps. He completed his first duty successfully, by meeting other babies, as shown below.

Behind that royal throne, however, is Team Kate. That group includes housekeeper Antonella Fresolone, private secretary Rebecca Deacon, Prince George’s nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, and, of course, her devoted mother, Carole.

With all that attention, how is the Duchess of Cambridge using her power? Just like Princess Diana, Kate is focusing on those in need, especially children, reports E! News.

Back to work after her vacation, Princess Kate visited Bethlem and Maudsley Hospital School in Beckenham, Kent, which specializes in children struggling with mental health concerns. She devoted more than an hour to meeting with both the children and staff members.

Kate also works with Place2Be, which is a non-profit organization that offers mental health services to children. The group focuses on young ones who suffer from socioeconomic deprivation. She attended the Place 2 Reflect conference last year, and has officially served as a patron.

So will that baby bump become a little girl or boy? A palace spokesperson says that Prince William and Princess Kate don’t yet know.

But as the Inquisitr reported, if it’s a girl, she may name her Diana. Influenced by Prince William’s memories of his loving mother, he reportedly has persuaded his wife to honor Diana in that way, said a source.
