‘Minecraft: Star Wars Rebels Skin Pack’ DLC Released on Xbox One, Xbox 360 Alongside New Minor Title Update

Fans of 4J Studios’ Xbox editions of Minecraft received a surprise new DLC add-on today that is available for download on both the Xbox One and Xbox 360. The official Microsoft news blog, Xbox Wire, announced today that the Star Wars Rebels Skin Pack has now launched across the Xbox versions of Minecraft.

Based on the new Star Wars Rebels animated show, the new DLC allows Minecraft players to select 23 new avatar skins representing different characters from the Disney Channel show. Star Wars Rebels takes place before the events of original Star Wars trilogy, five years prior to the beginning of Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope.

“Now, Minecrafters can play as their favorite inhabitants of the starship Ghost, such as Ezra Bridger, Hera Syndulla, Kanan Jarrus and Chopper. Priced at $2.99 USD, the Star Wars Rebels™ Skin Pack brings the whole motley crew to the colossal world of Minecraft.”

4J Studios also announced from their official Twitter account that a new Minecraft title update is also now going live across all regions and an all platforms that fixes a few minor bugs. The developer released the full change log for the new update to fully detail what issues have been resolved within the game. Minecraft users should now experience fewer problems with horses despawning, as well as improved spawning mechanics for villagers and witches, among other changes.

Minecraft: Star Wars Rebels Skin Pack

Today’s release of the Star Wars Rebels Skin Pack DLC for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of Minecraft is the second Star Wars add-on to release on Xbox consoles. The Inquisitrreported in November that console players previously received the Star Wars Classic Skin Pack, which introduced a dozens of new character avatars. However, the focus of the last Star Wars DLC for Minecraft was centered on people from the original trilogy. As such, the Star Wars Classic Skin Pack introduced characters skins based upon iconic figures like Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Princess Leia Organa.

The new Star Wars Rebels Skin Pack is out now on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of Minecraft. Like the first Star Wars add-on for Minecraft, there is currently no news regarding the possibility that the DLC might later release on PlayStation platforms. Microsoft released the following full list of the new Minecraft skins that will be added to the game as part of the new content.
