Taylor Swift Boasts About Meeting Madonna at Grammys
Taylor Swift apparently got a bit starstruck at the 2015 Grammys in Los Angeles on Sunday. The country singer-turned-pop star took to Twitter to boast about meeting none other than Madonna.
Madonna seemed equally excited to meet Taylor. Madonna, who gave a matador-inspired performance for “Living for Love,” her new single from her 13th studio album, Rebel Heart, at the awards show, posted a photo that she took with Taylor backstage at the Grammys.

While Madonna walked the red carpet with rapper Nas and DJ Diplo, both of whom she collaborated with on Rebel Heart, Taylor’s date wasn’t a fellow musician but an old friend.
Showing that she’s still close to her hometown friends despite the fact that she’s now a worldwide superstar who sells albums by the millions and breaks music records, Taylor took a high school friend to the Grammys as her date. Prior to the awards ceremony, Taylor tweeted a photo of her and her friend, Abigail, in 2005, during their sophomore year of high school.
The sophomore year photo is quite a contrast to their 2015 Grammys photo, although Swift showed that she still acts silly with her friend by giving her bunny ears in front of the photographers.

On the Grammys red carpet, Madonna complimented Swift as she talked to Access Hollywood‘s Shaun Robinson. “She writes some damn catchy pop songs. Can’t get them out of my head,” Madonna said of Taylor.
When Taylor was told of the compliment, she couldn’t believe it.
“Stop, I will pass out! You can’t, don’t be lying. Oh my God, I’ve been so scared to meet her, because it means too much to me. When she first said something nice about me in the press a couple of weeks ago, I was like, ‘There’s no way it’s real, it’s too good to be real.'”
Judging from their 2015 Grammys photo, it seems that Madonna made the “Shake It Off” singer feel at ease.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, in late January, Madonna revealed her feelings about the music industry’s current pop princesses, such as Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Rihanna, during an interview with Australia’s Today show. Madonna in particular singled out Taylor Swift.
“It’s good to have princesses. It means there’s lots of pretty dresses around. I like Taylor Swift. I think she writes some really catchy pop songs. Can’t get them out of my head.”
