Brawl Breaks Out Between Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Family, Cops Called

A brawl broke out between family members of Bobbi Kristina Brown early Friday morning, resulting in one family member needing treatment at a local hospital and the cops being called.

The physical altercation occurred between Bobby Brown’s sister, Tina Brown, and his cousin, Shayne Brown, at the W. Midtown Atlanta Hotel. The Browns have been in Atlanta in order to hold a bedside vigil for Bobbi Kristina, who remains hospitalized.

The Atlanta police told USA Today that Tina Brown hit Shayne Brown in the head with a bottle.

After the fight, Shayne reportedly drove himself to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for lacerations. Tina Brown reportedly left the scene at the Atlanta hotel before police arrived, according to Atlanta police officer Kim Jones.

Bobbi Kristina Brown has been in a medically-induced coma at Emory University Hospital since she was found face down and unresponsive in a bathtub at her Roswell home last Saturday. Bobbi Kristina is the only child of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston.

Nick Gordon, Brown’s husband, and a friend found Bobbi Kristina in the bathtub and started CPR. When police arrived, those life-saving measures were taken over until rescue personnel arrived on the scene. Brown was then taken to North Fulton Hospital, while police remained at her residence, investigating the incident, which took place just a few weeks before the three-year anniversary of her mother’s death.

Details still remain unclear. Thursday morning, People magazine posted a story that claimed the family of Bobbi Kristina had gathered in Atlanta in order to say goodbye to the 21-year-old young woman. The article claimed that the doctors had told the family of Bobbi Kristina that nothing more could be done.

But a source close to the family quickly responded to the article, saying, “There is no ‘family gathering’ today that is any different from any other day since (Bobbi Kristina) has been in the hospital — the family has been there since the weekend, so nothing any different today for them to be there than any other day. She is not brain dead, and the Houstons and the Browns are not fighting.”

Bobbi Kristina Brown’s family continues to try to squash all rumors that Bobbi Kristina is brain dead. Many of her family members remain by her bedside — including her father, who hasn’t left it since the incident occurred.

Bobby Brown has asked for privacy.

“Please allow for my family to deal with this matter and give my daughter the love and support she needs at this time,” Bobby Brown said in a statement.
