Lark Voorhies On ‘Saved By The Bell’ Fallon Reunion, Her Jehovah’s Witness Faith

Lark Voorhies, for many Saved by the Bell fans, was the one omission that could have made Wednesday’s Fallon reunion perfect.

The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon managed to reunite Elizabeth Berkley, Mario Lopez, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, and Tiffani Thiessen, as well as their princiPAL Mr. Belding (Dennis Haskins) for an all-too-short eight-minute skit that showed what it was like for Fallon to attend Bayside High, the fictional high school from the popular teen sitcom.

Voorhies played the fashionable Lisa Turtle and would have been a most welcome addition for fans, but, unfortunately, she was unable to make things work out with her schedule.

Here’s the official word from her publicist to E! News.

“Lark would have loved to be part of the Jimmy Fallon skit (as she is a big fan of the show), however due to an intense work schedule she was not available.”

Of course, some have speculated that Lark Voorhies may not be too keen on revisiting that part of her past. She spoke to TooFab in September and said that she liked the Lifetime original movie that was partly based on Dustin Diamond’s memoir.

Most of the cast criticized the film as being inaccurate and a cheap attempt from Diamond to cash in on made-up controversies. Voorhies, however, felt the storytelling was “accurate” for the most part and praised the performances.

Some have speculated that this is her subtle way of siding with Diamond and that she may still be holding on to some old beefs with her co-stars.

If any of that is true, however, she isn’t confessing. What she is confessing, however, is her faith. The former Lisa Turtle said that she is very devout in her beliefs — her “truth” — and that she even does door-to-door visits.

When asked if people ever remembered her from the show, she said “sometimes,” and admitted that she would have no problem sitting down with someone and sharing faiths over reruns of her classic show.

Here’s the full interview from September.

And if you just can’t get enough of that Saved by the Bell Fallon reunion — I know I can’t — then here’s another look.

Do you think we’re hearing the full story on why there was no Lisa Turtle in the Saved by the Bell reunion skit, or is there a disconnect between the cast and Lark Voorhies?

And if Lark came knocking on your door, would you let her in?
