NeNe Leakes Accused Of Buying Product And Stealing Concept: Is She Playing Dirty?

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes wants it her way or no way at all. NeNe is known for being very opinionated, and she isn’t very accepting of other people’s points of view. While this is great for reality television, this is not necessarily a good thing when it comes to business. NeNe is known for being very adventurous in business, but her newest venture may not be going as great.

NeNe Leakes is currently working on a t-shirt line that carries statements that she has made while filming The Real Housewives of Atlanta. And while this is far from an original concept, Leakes is proud to share some of her sayings on the t-shirts, such as her “Girl, Bye” comment that was made several times on the show. But was Leakes the first person to say this?

According to a new Washington Post report, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes is now caught up in a legal battle over who really owns the rights to the saying “Girl, Bye.” Even though NeNe has said it a few times on the show, entrepreneur and designer Arsha Jones claims that the saying was used by Arsha first — at least in a business sense.

NeNe Leakes enjoys sending cease-and-desist letters to everyone these days, so it isn’t surprising that Jones is getting one. Jones is the owner of Tees in the Trap, a clothing company from Annapolis. One of the products features the “Girl, Bye” saying.

As for the entrepreneur, Jones claims that The Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes is the one being a copycat. She claims that NeNe bought one of her t-shirts in Atlanta, posted the picture on Instagram, and fans went wild. That’s when NeNe started her own online shop, and is now sending cease-and-desist letters to Jones to get her to stop selling the T-shirts.

“Ms. Leakes has been using the phrase ‘Girl Bye’ for over two years on her television show ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ and in public,” the letter reads, adding, “The ‘Girl Bye’ phrase is widely associated with Miss Leakes due to Ms. Leakes’ fame and high level of exposure in the public limelight.”

It is crazy to think that NeNe Leakes would go above and beyond to ruin a business, simply because she now wants something that was used by another woman first. But it isn’t surprising that Leakes is disregarding other people’s hard work. According to the Inquisitr, Leakes seems to think that she is above everyone else and she is now demanding her own show from Bravo.
