‘Mortal Kombat X’ PC Specs, Ermac Revealed

Gamers now know just what kind of rig they’ll need to run Mortal Kombat X, the next entry in the long-running fighting game series, as its PC specifications have been revealed to the masses hoping to take on their foes across their computers.

According to the MKX listing on Steam, Mortal Kombat X won’t require the most robust rig in order to punch and kick your way through Outworld, but the recommended specs aren’t for slouches, either.

Minimum system requirements:

  • OS: 64-bit: Vista, Win 7, Win 8
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-750, 2.67 GHz | AMD Phenom II X4 965, 3.4 GHz
  • Memory: 3 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 | AMD Radeon HD 5850
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Hard Drive: 25 GB available space

Recommended system requirements:

  • OS: 64-bit: Win 7, Win 8
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-3770, 3.4 GHz | AMD FX-8350, 4.0 GHz
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 | AMD Radeon HD 7950
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Hard Drive: 40 GB available space

At the baseline, Mortal Kombat X‘s PC minimum requirements are on par with most games today, but the recommended specs are on the mid-high side of things. Mortal Kombat X will undoubted rely on fast movement and fluid framerates, so eking out as much power as your PC can give you would create a more seamless fighting experience. Because spitting acid into your opponent’s eyes as Reptile sucks at 20 FPS, right?

Also, NetherRealm Studios released a trailer for the latest Mortal Kombat X character to be revealed: Ermac. First introduced to the series in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Ermac joins a long list of returning members to the Mortal Kombat X lineup, including the aforementioned Reptile, as well as Sub Zero and Scorpion, to name a few. The mysterious enforcer of Shao Khan originally was a red palette swap of Scorpion, but has since flourished into his own character, specifically in Mortal Kombat: Deception. The trailer shows Ermac fighting other fan-favorite Sub Zero to the death, wielding his psychokinetic powers with deadly precision.

Mortal Kombat X will be out on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and last gen consoles April 14, and fans will have many ways to purchase their copy of the game. Revealed earlier this week, and reported by The Inquisitr, Mortal Kombat X will have multiple different “Kollector’s Editions” available to fans, complete with a Scorpion statue. However, these “Kollector’s Editions” will only be available to Xbox One and PS4 consumers.

Will your rig be able to handle Mortal Kombat X? Are you going to be performing fatalities at ultra high framerates? Sound off below!
