According to reports, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard finally tied the knot on February 3 at a private ceremony in Depp’s Los Angeles home. It was initially reported that the couple were planning to get married this weekend, and it seems that it’s still pushing through. A second ceremony is scheduled this weekend in the Bahamas, on a private island owned by Depp. Sources say that the second ceremony will be intimate and will cater to only 50 guests. Close friends and family are expected to be there in the ceremony, including Depp’s children.

This is the first marriage for Amber Heard and the second one for Depp. Back in the 1980s, Depp was married to make-up artist Lori Anne Wilson. However, the marriage only lasted for a couple of years. Depp’s last relationship was with model Vanessa Paradis. The couple were together for fourteen years, and they have two children together: Lily Rose and John Christopher.
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard met during filming of The Rum Diary back in 2011. They got engaged a year later.
Back in 2013, Amber Heard opened up about her relationship with Depp and being in a relationship with someone in the same line of work.
“It is really hard when you spend your life living out of a suitcase. But it really does weed out superficial people – if someone is still with you after the second movie then they’re probably a good one! I like to trust people in general – it’s the southern girl in me.”
Depp also had nothing but kind words for Amber Heard back when he was interviewed last year while promoting Transcendence.
“One of the first times I sat down with her I was astonished at how smart she is. There’s a really strong, brilliant woman in there who has a lot to say.”
In the same interview, Depp also revealed the he and ex-girlfriend Vanessa Paradis are in good terms.
“Vanessa and I get along wonderfully. There’s no weirdness at all, no hostility – life happens and we spent 14 great years together. We see each other all the time and giggle and hang out just like we always did.”
While Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have been seen in public countless of times since they started dating, the two are notoriously private when it comes to their relationship. So, it makes perfect sense that even their two wedding ceremonies are private events shrouded in secrecy.
