Bobby Brown’s Lawyer Says Bobbi Kristina Never Married Nick Gordon

Recent articles about Bobbi Kristina Brown said that her husband, Nick Gordon, 25, and another man found her unconscious, face down in the bath tub, and called 911 for help.

Bobbi often spoke about her marriage to Nick Gordon, the orphaned young man she grew up, who Whitney Houston brought into their family. But her father’s lawyer says they never wed, according to the New York Post.

The attorney for R&B singer Bobby Brown, Christopher Brown (no known relation), released the following statement.

“To correct earlier reports, Bobbi Kristina is not and has never been married to Nick Gordon.”

According to Yahoo Celebrity, Whitney Houston never formally adopted Gordon, but raised the two children together. She brought him into her home when he was 12 years old, and referred to him as “her son.”

Bobbi often referred to Nick as her husband, even tweeting a sweet statement on December 25, 2014.

Shortly after her mother died in 2012, she and Gordon went public with their romantic relationship. Some relatives openly expressed their dislike for this relationship. In fact, he remains subject to a protective order, barring him from being within 200 feet of Bobbi Kristina’s aunt, Patricia Houston.

In July 2013, Bobbi confirmed via Facebook that she was engaged to Gordon. She was even shown wearing what looked like an engagement ring. She emphasized that the two are not related.

Bobbi is the sole inheritor to Whitney’s estate. Houston family sources confirmed to TMZ that “there are no legal documents that would allow Gordon to get any of the Whitney Houston fortune Bobbi Kristina inherited if she passes.”

In the last couple of years, Bobbi and Nick made various statements regarding the state of their relationship. In January 2014, they declared that they had indeed tied the knot, which their representatives confirmed.

ET confirmed that the couple was not legally married in the state they legally resided and where she was discovered unconscious, Georgia. Marriages in California may be filed confidentially, though there is no evidence known at this time that they were married there, either.

At this time, what is most important is the state of her health, which is being closely watched in the new hospital, Emory, to which she was transferred, which is renowned for treating brain injuries. Doctors can’t predict the outcome, as she was without oxygen for between approximately two and five minutes as she lay face down in her bathtub.

As was noted in the Inquisitr, both the Houstons and the Browns want Gordon to stay away from her, which may have something to do with her move to Emory.
