SSF4 Arcade Edition Ver. 2012 coming to PC next month

Console owners have had access to the Ver. 2012 balance update for Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition since back in December, but PC gamers have been left behind with no word on when the update will be made available to them.

Fortunately, it looks like SSF4: AE fans on the PC won’t have to wait much longer for their turn, as Capcom announced over on Capcom Unity that the Ver. 2012 update will finally be making its way to PCs at some point next month.

For the uninitiated, the SSF4: AE Ver. 2012 update doesn’t add any new content, but it does add in a host of balance tweaks for the game’s large cast of characters. Just about everyone has had at least one significant change made to their move properties–some nerfs and some buffs–in an effort to level the playing field.

It may not sound like much, but the changes made to the cast of characters has a significant impact on how matches play out–and it’s not like you’ll have to spend any cash on the update, as Capcom will be making it available for free on PC, just as they did on consoles.

Capcom isn’t saying exactly when in February gamers can expect the Ver. 2012 update, but the developer did promise more updates on the.. update in the “coming weeks”.
