’16 and Pregnant’ Star Nikkole Paulun Speaks Out After Arrest: Does She have Guardianship Of Son?
It isn’t uncommon for some 16 and Pregnant stars to remain in the limelight, even if they don’t gain a spot on a Teen Mom spin-off. While it doesn’t happen for every cast member, some gain large fan bases that enjoy keeping up with them after the show. Nikkole Paulun has always been one of the girls who have managed to stay in the spotlight, despite not being picked for Teen Mom 2. Unfortunately, she hasn’t always stayed in the headlines for positive things.
Nikkole Paulun was featured on the second season of 16 and Pregnant which also included Kailyn Lowry, Leah Messer, Jenelle Evans, and Chelsea Houska. However, like Jenelle Evans, Nikkole has received a lot of negative publicity. Last year, she was accused of faking a pregnancy and subsequent stillbirth of a son. This year, she is finding herself back in the headlines, not only for an all-new pregnancy, but also for an arrest.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the former 16 and Pregnant star was arrested for “third degree retail fraud.” There have been conflicting reports since then, and Nikkole Paulun herself has spoken out about the arrest.
“Listen regardless of what happened, I was in the wrong. I knew something happened and didn’t say anything about it and went along with it. I confessed and admitted everything before anyone else said a word. I feel awful that I let something like this happen to me but honestly everyone’s negative sh*t is NOT helping me. The negative sh*t is not good for anyone, let alone a pregnant woman. I’m remaining as positive as I can for myself and my baby. If you’re gonna talk sh*t just please don’t even tag me in it.”
It is unclear what the 16 and Pregnant star will be charged with, but according to multiple reports, including one from Starcasm, it will be a lesser charge than the initial “third degree retail fraud.” It appears that the arrest isn’t the only drama that Nikkole Paulun is facing, though. According to a report from Teen Mom Junkies, the currently pregnant, former reality show star may not even have guardianship of her son, Lyle.
According to public records, Nikkole’s mom, Rikki, appears to have petitioned the courts for custody of the young boy in April 2014. It shows that she was appointed as the young boy’s legal guardian. Fans have often asked Nikkole on Twitter about her son and why she doesn’t seem to post any photos or updates about him, and this could explain why. However, she has yet to address these claims, but has spoken out about others, including if she plans to press charges against the arresting officer.
The 16 and Pregnant star also revealed that she isn’t ashamed over what happened, and she is done “feeling bad about it.”
