‘Teen Mom’ Return: Michael Abraham Defends Daughter Farrah, Points Out Cast Flaws

The return of Teen Mom is imminent and, as revealed late last month, the fifth season of the show will include all four original cast members, including the controversial Farrah Abraham. The reality show star turned adult film star has made headlines for her venture into the adult film world and she hasn’t necessarily gained support from her former co-stars who were reportedly unhappy when they learned that she would be rejoining them on the show.

Interestingly, Maci Bookout, Amber Portwood, and Catelynn Lowell had nearly wrapped up filming for the new season of Teen Mom when news broke that Farrah Abraham would be back. According to the creator of the show, Lauren Dolgren, the show seemed incomplete without the fourth Teen Mom story.

“We had shot a couple of storylines and there is something about having that fourth story to counterbalance—there’s just a magic to four stories and four different points of view.”

Dolgren also revealed that the news created some controversy among the other cast members who were under the assumption that their co-star would not be back saying, “[They] know she’s coming back. It did create a little bit of controversy that will play out in the series.”

Unfortunately, it hasn’t been only the cast that has slammed MTV’s decision to reinstate Farrah’s position on Teen Mom. Fans of the show have also spoke out and claimed that they don’t want her back for the new season. Even Farrah’s parents have had to deal with backlash from fans. According to Starcasm, Mike Abraham defended his daughter on Facebook for her sex tape, pointing out that the other cast members are not perfect either.

“The other teen moms are not perfect. Currently one just had a child out of wedlock … Another just got pregnant with a boy friend out of wedlock… There is nothing illegal doing [an] adult video and Farrah is NOT filming any more. Farrah [is] not perfect but she is a successful business woman and as another woman you ( or any one else) should take their judgmental opinion and not worry if some other people want to watch the show.”

It is understandable that Mike Abraham would want to defend his daughter. While not everyone may agree with him, there have been some fans who have pointed out that Farrah hasn’t done the worst things. Some fans have pointed out that Jenelle Evans has done worse things by being arrested numerous times, but she still films for the show. Amber Portwood’s name has also come up in online commentary, people pointing out that she has been to prison, but has been asked back to Teen Mom.

Mike Abraham apologized for “jumping down the throat” of the commenter. Farrah’s mom, Debra, also defended her daughter’s choices.

“I am proud of my daughter and family. Farrah is a business woman who works some days 12 to 14 hours. She isn’t out of control or doing crazy things, rather she is contributing to the new economy.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Farrah will be back on television this year, not only for Teen Mom, but also other endeavors which include The Doctors where she talked about her plastic surgery mishap.
