Kate Middleton has reportedly been having a whale of a time, along with her husband Prince William and baby George, on the island of Mustique, where they have been celebrating Carole Middleton’s 60th birthday.
While the trip has widely been reported as the last the Duchess will take before she gives birth in April, she and William have enjoyed some good quality time, not just with the Middleton side of the family, but also with Prince George.
According to a US Weekly report, baby George has been receiving swimming lessons at the five-star Aurora Villa where the royals have been staying, in the estate’s private pool.
An inside source told the publication, “He loves splashing about. It’s the perfect place for him to play! This will be their last big trip before the baby is born in April.”
Due to the tight security surrounding the royal visit to the Caribbean, Carole Middleton’s birthday bash was toned down somewhat, mainly due to the fact that not everyone invited was allowed to attend.
Notable absentees from the list, included Carole’s son James and daughter Pippa’s other halves, TV presenter Donna Air and stockbroker Nico Jackson.
As an insider told the publication, “It’s just a question of protocol really. It’s a bit of a family lockdown as it always is when William and Kate are involved.”
Kate and William reportedly jetted off to the small private island in the West Indies last week for a two-week long vacation, with the accommodation costing a whopping $26,000 per week just for them and George.
A fellow passenger on the flight with Kate, William and George said that the young prince was “impeccably behaved” as he entertained himself with soft toys for the duration of the nine-hour flight.
While Kate Middleton already has numerous royal public engagements in the pipeline between now and when she gives birth in April, the Duchess won’t be travelling abroad again, just in case the baby arrives prematurely.
