Liam Payne And Louis Tomlinson Recording Music With Nickelback?

Judging from a recent photo of Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne making the rounds, One Direction may be forming an unholy alliance with Nickelback. The bands’ collaborative effort could produce a big hit for 1D, the internet’s most-hated earworm of all time, or both.

According to Time, the perplexing picture in question shows Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson hanging out in a recording studio with Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger and ex-Daughtry drummer Robin Diaz. One Direction is a band that doesn’t play instruments, but, as you can see in the photo below, Louis and Liam are having a great time pretending to play the drums. They seem oddly excited to be associating with a man who makes music that everyone loves to hate.

Liam Payne And Louis Tomlinson Might Be Recording Music With Nickelback

There’s no word on what Tomlinson and Payne were doing with Chad Kroeger, but Time points out that One Direction and Nickelback make an unlikely alliance — one band is known for singing “Best Song Ever,” and the other is known for being the worst band ever. Perhaps One Direction and Nickelback will get together and create a mediocre mashup of two of their most popular tunes: “This is How You Remind Me of What Makes You Beautiful.”

The guys of One Direction have been spending a lot of time with other musicians recently. According to MTV News, Harry Styles helped Meghan Trainor come up with some “very poetic, mature lyrics” for her song “London Lights.” Meanwhile, Zayn Malik has been hitting the recording studio with Naughty Boy, and Directioners recently freaked out about an Instagram photo of Liam Payne and Juicy J that was making the rounds online.

Juicy J Liam Payne

Some worried fans saw the photo above as evidence that Payne might be leaving One Direction to launch his own music career. However, Liam isn’t consulting with Juicy J about becoming a rapper. According to Perez Hilton, a source close to the odd couple revealed that they’re just close friends.

“They ran into each other in studio and are label mates here in the US, so they know each other,” the source revealed.

A collaboration between Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Nickelback is a bit more believable than the idea of any member of One Direction trying to become the next Vanilla Ice.

Do you think fans of One Direction should be worried about Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Harry Styles working with other musicians? Or is Niall Horan’s lack of a 1D side project evidence that the band isn’t breaking up anytime soon?
