Bigfoot In New York? Cryptid Allegedly Filmed In Brooklyn Park

A videographer from Brooklyn, New York, is claiming that he filmed a Bigfoot making its way through a wooded park, and while some assert that the footage could be genuine, others contend that it is nothing but the product of a cheap hoax.

Russell Strark alleges he was working on a time-lapse video in Prospect Park when he captured the unusual footage, according to Fox 21. He claims that the clip was filmed last Tuesday, just a day after a major snow storm passed over New York. The city’s parks were closed to the public by order of Mayor Bill de Blasio as Pix 11 points out, though according to Strark, Bigfoot apparently didn’t get the message.

“This is unbelievable footage that I captured in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park,” Strark noted in the description. “I recently started a live streaming/time lapse channel called Brooklyn Live Video to capture different parts of Brooklyn. I had set up a camera in Prospect Park on a side trail to capture the snow fall, today I went back and collected it and found footage. It appears to me to be Bigfoot… Seriously. Looks like it was taken at around 7 am this morning.”

The comment section of Strark’s video is filled with viewers calling the Bigfoot clip out as a hoax. Some of the commenters noted that the Bigfoot appears to be nothing more than a man in a jacket, while others questioned why camera data, such as battery life and frame rate, appeared in the footage. Several New York locals who were questioned by Pix 11 agreed that the Bigfoot looks to be a man in a suit, while another said that the animal resembled nothing he’d ever seen in the park.

Whether or not the video is a hoax, it nonetheless stands out as New York’s answer to Boston’s own snowstorm cryptid; a Yeti which appeared earlier this week. As the Inquisitr previously reported, the Boston Yeti immediately became popular on social media after residents first spotted it roaming the city during the storm.

Strark asked viewers to chime in with their own thoughts about the nature of the Bigfoot creature in the video. Noting that he isn’t an expert and referring to the footage as “compelling,” Strark admitted that he was “baffled” that a Bigfoot could possibly be walking through New York City.
