Watch: Beauty Pageant Runner-Up Grabs Tiara From Queen’s Head

Beauty pageants, a place of such poise, grace, charm, and… poor sportsmanship?

A Brazilian beauty contest, Miss Amazonas 2015, ended in chaos and lots of drama over the weekend, when the runner-up snagged the beauty queen’s crown from her head and threw it to the ground after the winner was announced.

Sheislane Hayalla, Miss Globe International 2014 1st runner-up, was competing in the beauty contest in order to represent her state in Miss Universe Brazil, but she finished in second place.

Displeased with the results, she ripped the crown from the winner’s head and threw it on the floor, pulling out a few tufts of the victor’s hair.

Though it seems like the runner up was just being a sore loser, there were apparently strong rumors circling that the competition was rigged to give this title to the current winner, who is the goddaughter of the organizer.

According to the Mirror, Sheislane claimed her rival had bought her way to the title, insisting, “Money talks in Manaus and I wanted to show the Amazon people money doesn’t talk here. She didn’t deserve the title.”

The winner declined to comment on the incident and would only say, “This is an unbelievable feeling.

“I don’t have words to explain the way I feel.”

Hayalla was allegedly cheered and supported by the audience and fellow contestants. And she left the hall whilst being applauded by the crowd.
