‘Vampire Diaries’ Spoilers: ‘The Day I Tried to Live’ Influenced By Nikki Reed And Ian Somerhalder? [Video]

Just in case The Vampire Diaries didn’t seem complicated enough (merges! death! un-dead!), life off-screen for the performers has gotten messy as well. And in some cases, the influence of rumored romances such as Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder may make the plot even more intriguing, according to Movie Pilot.

Reed has directing experience and wants to help her new fiancee, Ian, explained a source.

“Nikki has been helping Ian get ready for his directorial debut because she has done it before and he really appreciates her input and insight. He really is fully prepared for this and very excited and nervous, he wants it to go perfect and Nikki has helped him out immensely.”

But for fans of the show, consistency in the characters can make the difference between believing that Bonnie is actually stuck in 1994 and scoffing at the notion that Damon can magically save her. That’s just part of what viewers will be seeing in (spoiler alert!) the upcoming episode of Vampire Diaries, called “The Day I Tried to Live,” reports the Christian Today.

Played by Nina Dobrev, Elena has set herself a goal. Bring back Bonnie (Kat Graham) from 1994 so that she can celebrate her birthday with real people in the present (and lots of presents!). To do so, Elena needs help from her bodacious brother Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) as well as Ian Somerhalder’s character, Damon.

But wait, there’s more to the Bonnie’s birthday plot. Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola) have been busy on the side with a blossoming friendship. This girl has problems, and Stefan has decided he’s the dude to defend her from evil.

And it’s not an easy task, due to angry Enzo (Michael Malarkey). Previously an Augustine prisoner, Enzo has a soul brimming over with evil thoughts of revenge. Adding to Stefan’s headaches, Enzo drags in the Salvatores’ great niece Sarah (Tristin Mays).

Look for Matt (Zach Roerig) to interact with Sarah as Jeremy is forced to decide whether to go for good or for evil — and to determine what really constitutes good and evil when it comes to Elena, friends, and family as the efforts to save Bonnie are carried out.

For the cast of The Vampire Diaries, the constant suspense has become a standard as the Inquisitr reported.

“Dude, there’s always deaths, there is a big one coming up, I will say that, there is a big one that’s really going to break the people’s hearts,” warned Paul Wesley.

And for his character of Stefan, Paul revealed that life will become even more challenging.

“There’s some beautiful moments and I do think ultimately that something will happen. It’s just a slow burn.”

Airing on February 5, the 13th episode will preface “Stay,” scheduled for February 12.
