Bond Set At $3 Million For Washington State Army Wife For Slashing Children’s Throats

Washington State police arrested an army wife Sunday after slashing her three young children’s throat with a kitchen knife to keep them quiet for her annoyed husband. Her bond has been set at $3 million, according to MSN.

Christina E. Booth, 29, of Olympia, was arrested Sunday morning for the investigation of attempted murder of her 2-year-old daughter and 6-month-old twin girls. According to court papers, Christina and her husband were watching a movie Saturday night when her twin girls began to cry in their upstairs bedroom. She stated in an interview that her husband, Thomas Booth, an army soldier, became “very annoyed” when the children cried or made any noise.

She also stated to detectives in the interview that Thomas never helped her with the children. It was as if she was raising the children on her own.

To appease her husband, Christina grabbed a kitchen knife, walked upstairs, and first slit her 2-year-old daughters’ throat and placed a blanket over her. She then proceeded to slit her twins’ throat.

According to ABC News, Christina’s husband told detectives that the two had consumed two large glasses of wine, and that Christina was intoxicated to the point of slurring her words. He also warned detectives that the Washington State woman was on medication for postpartum depression, and had been under a lot of stress with the children.

While Christina was slashing her children’s throat, Thomas remained downstairs but became aware there was something wrong when Christina came downstairs wearing only her underwear, crying and screaming.

Thomas told detectives that he had found the children with their throats slashed and attempted to stop the bleeding. He screamed at his wife to call 911.

All three children were transported to a local hospital and are in stable condition.

Jim Costa – Olympia Police Lt. – stated that he questioned neighbors about the Booth’s family, and one of their neighbors said that Christina has a “bubbly” personality and didn’t have any time away from the children.

Tiffany Felch is a fiend of the Booth’s, and she stated the following.

“I would have never suspected that she would be a person to take this kind of a drastic action. I can’t imagine what stress she must have been under to cause her to do such a thing.”

“I’m sure there probably was frustration, friction in the household,” Costa said.

“A lot of dynamics pushed her over the brink.”

Twitter reacts after learning of the Washington State woman slashing her children’s throat.

The following is according to detectives and a probable cause document.

“Christina said she knew if she killed all of the kids, the house would be quiet for Thomas. During the interview, Christina broke down crying several times, yelled about Thomas never helping with the kids and vomited once. Christina made the comment ‘they will be quiet now’ several times.”

Olympia police stated that Thomas will not be charged, and the police don’t believe he played any role in the violent act against his three children.

Christina attended her arraignment on Monday, where the Washington State judge set her bond at $3 million.
