Mother Of Three Tragically Killed By Stray Bullet As Her Kids Stand And Watch

On Tuesday a 32-year-old mother of three was tragically killed when she was struck by a stray bullet as her children stood by helplessly and watched.

The incident took place in broad daylight as the victim, Maria Lourdes Soza, stood outside her San Francisco home, having just picked up her nine-year-old son and three-year-old daughter from school.

Soza, who is of Nicaraguan descent, is thought to have been a very unlucky and totally innocent bystander. Police are now looking into whether there is any connection to another shooting in a seafood restaurant nearby which occurred just a few minutes after Soza was shot.

The victim’s boyfriend, who also witnessed the shooting at her Bayview home, was in complete shock at what had happened as he rushed to help her and waited for paramedics to arrive.

Soza’s eldest daughter, 13-year-old Brianna, also tragically watched her mother die, as she told SFGate.com on Wednesday,

“My brother was crying. My sister was crying. And I was crying a lot. I can’t do anything without her. I miss her so much. I’ve been crying since yesterday until I fell asleep. I can’t believe I lost my mom. I can’t believe my mom just passed away.”

Brianna, who spoke through tears of sheer grief, told reporters that her mother wanted her, “to be a good person, get good grades and have a good career. She makes me laugh. She makes me smile. And I love her very much and she loves me too — she loves her family.”

Just ten minutes after Maria Soza lost her life, an unidentified woman had entered the Clam House restaurant nearby. She had also been shot and was covered in blood.

Police will now have to determine whether or not there is any connection between the shooting at the Clam House restaurant and the tragic death of mother of three, Maria Lourdes Soza.
