Snow Blower Attack Leaves One Woman Injured, Another Arrested In Blizzard 2015

A snow blower attack in Massachusetts has left one woman injured, and another woman arrested. According to ABC News, police were called to a home in Arlington around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Upon arrival, police learned that Barbara Davis, 61, attacked her 60-year-old neighbor with a snow blower, causing lacerations to the woman’s foot. Davis was arrested on several charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

“Emotions may run high during a historic weather event like the blizzard we just endured, but that is no excuse for violence. We are supposed to come together as a community during events like this, and I am very disappointed with these allegations,” said Arlington Police Chief Fred Ryan.

The snow blower attack was prompted by a “long standing dispute” between Davis and her neighbor, who was not seriously injured. According to Boston.com, the neighbor previously had a harassment protection order against Davis. At this point it is unclear what the two women have been fighting over, but something must have happened on Tuesday that caused Davis to go after her neighbor with her snow blower. Police have not released the victim’s name.

Davis is being held on $35,000 bail, and could be in court as early as tomorrow. Of course Boston and the surrounding cities and towns are still busy digging out from the blizzard of 2015 which dropped a widespread 24 inches of the white stuff.

Other blizzard of 2015 news around Massachusetts involved someone dressing up like a Yeti and walking the streets. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the “Boston Yeti 2015” hashtag was created on social media, and people were uploading pictures of the hilarious, yet somewhat terrifying creature (which was really just a guy trying to have some fun). The abominable snowman took to the streets of Somerville, Massachusetts, on Tuesday, giving residents in the area a shock. Most people didn’t expect to see a Yeti walking in the snow, but after the initial scare, laughter ensued.

Aside from the woman involved in the snow blower attack, most people made out okay in this storm. While there are a lot of people still without power, the storm wasn’t as bad for many others, and people have been able to dig out, and get back to work today.

Another storm is expected to brush the area on Friday (one to three inches predicted), and a larger system that is expected to drop plowable snow in the area will arrive in Massachusetts on Monday.
