Black Cinderella Keke Palmer May Have Found Her Prince Charming — August Alsina
From cooking chicken to going cruising, looks like Keke Palmer has found her prince charming — with a carriage to boot. The 21-year-old actress uploaded a photo of her riding shotgun while singer August Alsina drives her off to an unknown location.
“He can cook some good a** chicken ya’ll,” she captioned the photo, referring to the video that Palmer took as Alsina showed off his kitchen skills. The video was posted on the celebrity cooking page, The CelebriTea.
The rumor mill started grinding after the photo was posted on Palmer’s account. Some fans thought that the brewing couple was “cute,” while others are angered about Palmer nabbing the R&B hottie. “August should just focus on his music,” one fan wrote.
Alsina is preparing to tour this year after the release of his debut album, Testimony, last April. Def Jam signed the artist to their label after releasing his The Product mixtapes, which had the chart-topping single “I Luv This S***.” His latest album peaked on the No. 2 spot in the US, selling more than 200 thousand copies since its release. Nicki Minaj is featured on his latest single, “No Love (Remix).”
August lived his life earlier on the streets before the tragic death of his loved one made him focus on making music. He’s been relatively quiet about his romances and even said on an interview that he has trust issues. “You don’t know, because girls play games sometimes,” Alsina shared.
Palmer just finished her successful run as the first African-American to play the role of Cinderella on Broadway. The Huffington Post called the move as a “huge step forward for young women of color.” Palmer expressed her glee on Twitter, saying the following.
“I’m sooooo excited to be doing Broadway for the first time as Cinderella!! DREAMS DO COME TRUE!!”
She delighted fans of the hit musical from September until the show closed earlier this month. Brandy also played Cinderella musical in a TV movie alongside Whitney Houston, who played the fairy godmother.
Keke rose to stardom after starring in her own Nickelodeon TV series, True Jackson, VP, where she reportedly earned $20,000 per episode, making her one of the highest-paid child stars on television.
With a talk show on BET called Just Keke and an upcoming role in Ryan Murphy’s Scream Queens, will Palmer have enough time for Alsina despite their busy schedules? Time can only tell, but we sure wish that this couple goes the distance.
