Cynthia Bailey Burns Friendship Contract With NeNe Leakes On ‘RHOA’ — NeNe Set For ‘Glee’ [Video]

If you think of Real Housewives of Atlanta Cynthia Bailey and NeNe Leakes as best friends, it’s time to evaluate that view. The former BFFs ended their friendship as Cynthia burned their friendship contract, reported People magazine.

Bailey relished the opportunity to make a production out of sending the contract up in flames.

“Burn, baby, burn,” Cynthia said in a cheerleader move, clapping her hands hard. “It’s over.”

How could two formerly close friends end their relationship so harshly? It escalated during the past season, with the Housewives trip to Puerto Rico turning a friendship into a hate fest.

“NeNe made it crystal clear she didn’t want to be friends,” declared Cynthia.

Her helpful sister, Malorie, put on her detective hat to locate the contract, which both Cynthia and NeNe had signed. Once she located the filed document, it was time for the burning bash.

In a scene worthy of an Glee showdown between NeNe’s Coach Roz Washington and Jane Lynch’s Coach Sue Sylvester, Bailey dramatically set the contract on fire in her kitchen sink.

“The friendship contract is dead.”

Cynthia previously insisted that she wanted to make amends and restore her friendship with NeNe Leakes, reported E! News. But she wasn’t optimistic that they could return to BFF status.

“Once you’re actually face to face with someone, it’s hard to stay mad at someone you really cared about—at least for me. I don’t foresee us being BFF’s again. But I would love to see Nene and I in a place where we’re cordial and we have respect for each other and we can have a good time together. I miss having fun with her. But we’re not at that place yet.”

Bailey also confessed that she feels her family relationships have improved since she slashed her friendship with NeNe.

“My friendship with NeNe just took a lot of time and energy,” Cynthia reflected. “We were really friends. We really hung out together outside of the show, we really talked on the phone several times a day.”

Although she declined to blame NeNe for any marital problems, Bailey did admit that her husband was happier now that she’s no longer so close to NeNe.

“I’m not going to say my marriage is better because she’s not in it, my focus has changed. My focus is back on my family and on my husband. So yes, I’m definitely happier, my husband is happier, my whole family is happier. Going forward I won’t put that much energy into another friendship again. It was just too much.”

As for NeNe, she’s busy with her acting career outside of RHOA. As Glee ends its popularity with a final season, Leakes will appear in at least one episode, reported the Wrap.

And as the Inquisitr reported, Glee creator Ryan Murphy is already immersed in a new series that includes Glee graduates. Lea Michele will be among those starring in his new show, Scream Queens.

Will NeNe be among those screaming? Stay tuned.
