WWE News: Triple Threat Match For WWE World Championship Being Discussed For WrestleMania 31 After Rumble Backlash

After WWE Royal Rumble went off the air, riots seemingly went down. The internet took to social media and the term #CancelWWENetwork went viral. Rumors are swirling that WWE talent had issues getting out of the building, and those rumors are being confirmed by several fans at the arena. It should come as no surprise that reports are coming out of WWE scrambling a bit.

According to Daily Wrestling News, there is a discussion going on regarding a triple threat match with Rumble winner Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose. Roman is facing the WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 31, which cannot be changed. However, the opponent or opponents could change. Seth Rollins still has his Money in the Bank briefcase. The way Ambrose would get involved is up in the air, but he could have something similar to the Daniel Bryan scenario happen for him.

The idea is that since Roman is not getting a ton of cheers and Rollins would be the heel, Ambrose would be needed as the legit babyface.

The report also claimed that someone would have to bring up that Ambrose only has one singles PPV victory, due to being virtually buried for Rollins and Bray Wyatt most of 2014. The victory was at WWE Payback in June, so the idea that Ambrose could somehow be inserted into this match is tough to see. However, he is in a similar position as Daniel Bryan last year after Batista won the 2014 Royal Rumble and fans rebelled. The WWE has to do something to repair the damage, so it makes sense to think it’s possible.

It is said that Vince McMahon and WWE officials were legitimately surprised by the major backlash the Rumble got. Fans had been against Roman winning, but the way the Rumble match went down was most likely why the boos were as bad as they were. Daniel Bryan’s elimination is truly what got heat from fans. It is said that WWE painfully underestimated how the crowd would react to Bryan being eliminated.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer claimed, “They panicked early, they changed a few things.”

Reigns Mania

Obviously, if they changed stuff around the way they did, they didn’t try hard enough. The match after brought a ton of hate, especially the ending. The Rock was said to have been surprised by the amount of boos he and Reigns were getting, and it was said, “Dwayne was not happy.”

WWE has to do something right now because Philly is not the only place that is showing hate for what happened.

We know many cancelled the WWE Network last night into this morning. People are still doing it. With Network numbers dropping, people are going to want to see how WWE reacts to this on WWE RAW tonight.

Many speculate that WWE might pull the trigger and have Rollins cash in on current champion Brock Lesnar tonight or very soon. The fact is, if WWE goes with the main event that they have planned out, fans will not be interested in buying tickets to the biggest show of the year. It’s the same issue WWE faced last year with Batista/Randy Orton. People liked seeing Dave, but they didn’t want to see him in the main event with Orton. Daniel Bryan had earned his way into the main event, and fans got behind him for it.

The same love is being given to both Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. Even Dolph Ziggler is getting extreme favoritism. While WWE may not be able to put in everyone fans want to see in the main event, fans simply want to see something other than Lesnar Vs. Reigns.

Due to the foreign WWE fans as well as hardcore fans who would come to WrestleMania 31, boos would happen the entire main event. WWE does not want this, which is why plans are subject to change right now. The WrestleMania card we have been told to expect may not be what we see the night of the show if the fans continue to scream bloody murder over WWE”s current plans.
