WWE News: ‘Royal Rumble’ Stats — Who Returned And Order Of Entry/Elimination

The Royal Rumble is over and Roman Reigns will head to WrestleMania 31 to take on whomever the WWE Champion will be at the time. For now, that is still Brock Lesnar as he was able to defeat both Seth Rollins and John Cena to retain his title. With the rumble match in the past, it’s time to look at the entries, eliminations, and surprise returns that shocked the fans.

The crowd in Philadelphia didn’t really seem to appreciate the early elimination of Daniel Bryan or the win by Roman Reigns. The surprise appearances are what really set them on fire though, and as Bleacher Report stated, Bubba Ray Dudley’s return was the biggest.

Bubba Ray entered in the number three spot and eliminated both The Miz and R-Truth. Let’s hope this wasn’t just a one-time appearance.

Another surprise return was that of the Boogeyman, one of the strangest individuals to ever step foot inside a WWE ring.

Coming in at number 14 was Diamond Dallas Page, the master of yoga.

It is obvious that some changes were made as rumored and confirmed names such as Bo Dallas, Rob Van Dam, and others never made it into the match. One more surprise — and not so surprising — return was that of The Rock who saved Roman Reigns near the end of the rumble match.

In an odd note, Curtis Axel came in at the sixth spot and was never technically eliminated as Erick Rowan beat him down and took his spot. Then again, Axel never actually entered the match either to need to be eliminated.

The Royal Rumble is now over and the road to WrestleMania 31 has truly started. Roman Reigns is heading on to face Brock Lesnar in the main event, but there is so much that could happen in the next two months. It could be interesting to see how much things change or don’t before then.
