Amanda Bynes Will Not Face DUI Charge For September Violation
It looks like Amanda Bynes won’t be facing a DUI charge for a drunk driving incident back in September of 2014. The Los Angeles city attorney has reportedly decided not to pursue the DUI charge on the troubled actress. It looks like Bynes is in the clear, but only for now.
This dismissed charge does not mean that Amanda is entirely out of the clear yet, according to Web Pro News. City Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljansaid sat down in an interview with the New York Daily News. He explained the decision for Amanda’s dismissal and said that she will stay have to face repercussions.
“After much deliberation and review.There was not enough evidence to provide a likelihood of conviction if filed.”
The Los Angeles County D.A. will have to decide on whether to take Bynes to a probation-violation hearing. Bynes was originally taken into custody at 3:00 a.m. on Sept. 28 for running a red light and stopping in the middle of an intersection in the busy part of Los Angeles. Bynes was previously arrested for a DUI back in 2012, but has avoided jail time by completing an inpatient treatment program. The actress was then placed on three years’ probation in early 2014 after that case.
Amanda is still suffering from mental illness, as it has been plaguing both her personal life and professional life. She allegedly suffered delusional episodes in public, and has publicly admitted that her father has sexually abused her when she was younger.

People already have mixed feelings about the L.A. city attorney not pushing DUI charges on Amanda Bynes. Even though Bynes is clearly going through a difficult time, some would say that she still needs to face some sort of repercussion for her actions. But the L.A. District Attorney’s Office admits that Bynes is still on probation and has to stay out of trouble.
“As you know, she is currently on probation to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office for a 2012 DUI out of Beverly Hills. The matter was referred yesterday. No further action [in our office] is scheduled on this matter.”
Amanda has been flying under the radar these days, according to E! News. The troubled actress has only been checking into her official Twitter account once a month. She last tweeted on Jan. 13 with a new selfie. However, Amanda is reportedly still updating her thoughts on her rumored secret Twitter accounts: @PersianLA27 and @ChickyTweets28.
Bynes completed a year at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising’s Orange County campus. Since then, she has faced some public outbursts, and had to face a psychiatric hold. Bynes is also reportedly homeless and couch surfing with friends and sleeping in hotels. Bynes was recently spotted touring the University of Southern California campus last month, after tweeting that she wants to transfer to the school full-time.
