Ashton Kutcher To Testify Against Former Girlfriend’s Murderer

Ashton Kutcher is scheduled to testify against a man accused of murdering his former girlfriend, Ashley Ellerin. The crime happened on February 21, 2001, when Kutcher was just 23 years old and getting started on That 70’s Show. Kutcher’s testimony might confirm the time of the murder and help put a psycho-sexual serial killer behind bars.

Ashton Kutcher arrived at Ellerin’s Hollywood home at 10:45 p.m. He was there to take her to a small Grammy’s party. Earlier that day, he turned her down for a date and had called a couple times before he arrived but didn’t receive an answer. Kutcher thought he was going to have to smooth out an argument.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, 48 Hours executive producer Susan Zirinsky explained, “[H]e was picking her up and he got to the house and knocked on the door and it was dark. So he decides to peer in this very large window in the front of the house.”

Ashton saw what he believed was a small pool of red wine spilled on the ground, and then he left. Kutcher didn’t realize Ellerin’s dead body was just out of view, positioned in a “demeaning” sexual pose allegedly by serial killer Michael Thomas Gargiulo. Her body was later discovered by her roommate, Justin Peterson.

Ellerin was attacked in the shower and stabbed 47 times. The Daily Mail reported that her throat was slashed so violently she was nearly decapitated.

Ashley Ellerin, an aspiring model, moved to Los Angeles in 1999 and found work as a stripper and pole dancer, according to the Mirror.

As for her relationship with Ashton Kutcher, she was reportedly “playing the field” and had many different boyfriends.

LAPD Detective Tom Small described the relationship, saying, “[S]he had tons of boyfriends. At that time, Kutcher was still coming up. He hadn’t established his big-time credentials yet. They met through a mutual friend. It was a friendly thing. They went out a couple of times.”

She enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and lived walking distance from the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She also lived 400 feet away from air conditioner repairman Michael Thomas Gargiulo.

According to the accusations, Gargiulo went on to murder another woman, Maria Bruno, in 2005. Bruno, another attractive young woman, lived just 100 feet away from the serial killer. He also allegedly killed Tricia Pacaccio, a high school girl living in the Chicago suburb of Glenview, in 1993.

Gargiulo was arrested after 48 Hours ran a story about the case and received reports from two witnesses in Chicago. Ashton Kutcher is scheduled to give his testimony on the case in the next few months.
