Oh, yeah — Maseo’s wife is alive. Both his wife being alive in the present, and Oliver Queen’s miraculous resuscitation, have no explanation as of yet. The mid-season premiere mainly focused on Team Arrow dealing with the fact that Oliver Queen might be dead.

In closing, Malcolm Merlyn admitted to sacrificing Oliver, Thea Queen thinks Merlyn is looking for Oliver for her, Ray Palmer has not made many advances as the Atom, and Laurel Lance has assumed her comic book role as Black Canary.

Many questions remain: Will Oliver Queen return to Starling City and immediately return to the good fight? Will Team Arrow reform? What will become of Thea and Merlyn’s relationship when Oliver returns? How will everyone else react to Laurel’s decision to take up the Canary mantle?

Well, though there are many other questions, some of the above have been answered. The official synopsis for “Canaries” has been released, reports Comicbook.com. For those who wanted to know when Oliver Queen will return as the Arrow, this is a glimpse into that. “Oliver Queen is thrown by the changes within Team Arrow. He’s used to calling the shots but sees that the team has evolved in his absence and tensions quickly escalate in the lair. Oliver is furious that Laurel Lance has been going out as the Black Canary and tells her to stop risking her life, but when Vertigo hits the streets again, Laurel goes against Oliver’s wishes and tracks down Vertigo who hits her with a full dose of the drug. Laurel’s biggest fears revolve around her sister Sara Lance so the Vertigo causes her to hallucinate an epic fight between Canary and Black Canary. Meanwhile, Chase surprises Thea Queen, and Roy warns Thea to stay away from Malcolm Merlyn.”
