Tom Felton Sorted Into Gryffindor On ‘Pottermore,’ Not A Slytherin After All

Tom Felton, the actor who portrayed Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter series, may not belong in Slytherin after all. Tom joined Pottermore on Wednesday night, and was surprised when he was sorted into Gryffindor, the house of heroes Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

Felton was sorted into his house on Pottermore on Wednesday. Tom felt that he should embody Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter’s school rival and the poster child for Slytherin snobbishness and desire for only pure blood witches and wizards. The online game has a mini-game which sorts users into one of four houses based upon the player’s responses to a series of questions. According to Time, Tom may not be as evil as his fictional counterpart.

Tom also posted a picture of his results on Instagram.

Apparently Felton’s true character was no surprise to series writer J.K. Rowling, who often met the actors on set and at film events such as premieres.

Tom is the only cast member to take the online quiz. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, who play the Gryffindor trio in the films, have not been sorted on Pottermore either, according to CNET. Fans will now have to wonder if their favorite actors truly live up to the qualities of their fictional counterparts. For example, Emma Watson could be sorted into the highly intellectual house Ravenclaw for her academic studies and work with the United Nations.

In reality, Felton is good friends with cast members from other houses. Tom frequently is spotted with Ronald Weasley’s real-life counterpart, Rupert Grint. Most recently, the Inquisitr reported that Tom played a prank on Rupert by posing as a Harry Potter fan. Tom dressed up in glasses and a wig with a camera, waiting outside of the Broadway theater where Grint is starring in a production of It’s Only a Play.

“Tom was in disguise to pull a prank on Rupert. The pair have a long history of playing pranks on each other on the set and off. Eventually Tom revealed himself to Rupert. It was hilarious.”

If Felton and Grint are such pals in real life, perhaps Tom really is suited to be a Gryffindor.
