Marilyn Manson Has Forgotten He’s Feuding With Courtney Love

Marilyn Manson, 46-years-old, says he isn’t sure if there’s still a feud between him and Hole front woman Courtney Love. With the number of celebrity feuds out there, it can be difficult to keep up if you’re into that sort of thing, and apparently even if you’re the celebrity involved. Does anyone even remember when Manson and Love had a feud in the first place?

After some time out of the immediate spotlight, Marilyn Manson has just recently been back in the news. First, there was the infamous rape scene video involving Lana Del Rey, which Manson claims was not for one of his music videos. Now his latest album, The Pale Emperor, has released and is Marilyn Manson’s first album in three years.

In an interview with Esquire, Manson was asked how he and Love “buried the hatchet.” Manson said he and Love never had a major fight and then went on to explain “the weirdness” over the years between them.

“We never really had a falling out. We’ve always been weird with each other, because she’s slept with pretty much every one of my friends, supposedly. Not me, though. She, one time, told me she was mad at me because I didn’t want to f**k her and I was smarter than her. I said, ‘Well, you kind of proved your own point right there on that one.’ But it was cool.”

Apparently Love must have read Manson’s interview, which was posted on Tuesday, because she fired back today on Twitter. She retweeted a link to his interview before tweeting the message below.

Courtney Love TweetPerhaps Marilyn Manson’s didn’t see things the same way as Love, because it all started back in 1999 when Manson and Love’s bands toured together. Both Manson and Love traded insults on stage quite a few nights. Hole left the tour after just seven shows. Initially called the “Beautiful Monsters” tour by Melissa Auf Der Maur, Hole’s bassist, the tour was renamed by Manson as the “Rock is Dead” tour.

Manson was then said to have renamed the tour “Hole is Dead” on the band’s official website. A comment on the website was also attributed to Manson.

“Due to extreme problems being caused by Hole, we were unable to attend the aftershows… it appears to be a war between us and Hole. I don’t expect them to last very long.”

Both Marilyn Manson and Love appeared on the final season of Sons of Anarchy but had no scenes together. Their appearances on the show brought up their past from the 90s and feud rumors. Manson may have added some fuel to the fire when he tweeted a photo of the two of them on the red carpet last September.

Manson wrote, “This is what prison rape looks like in my nightmares.”

Recently, Love tweeted a birthday message to Manson, apparently referencing the caption he wrote on that red carpet photo.

Love wrote, “Happy Birthday @marilynmanson love u dude xc #myfavoriteprisonrapist @Theorossi u concur? Xx http://t.co/U7Ms0PHSCk

With Hole pulling out from the tour back in the 90s, the barbs traded onstage, the time when Love dated Manson’s friend Billy Corgan (front man for Smashing Pumpkins), and the recent Twitter/interview jabs, perhaps Marilyn Manson has simply forgotten there was beef between him and Love. Or maybe he’s just happy to stir things up?
