Catelynn Lowell Opens Up About Breastfeeding
Catelynn Lowell recently gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. The Teen Mom star, who placed her first daughter up for adoption, has taken well to being a mother and, even when things are hard, she is happy.
Catelynn first appeared on the MTV series 16 and Pregnant with her boyfriend, Tyler Baltierra. Both had tumultuous home lives and were faced with a harrowing decision. Would they raise their daughter, knowing that they were not ready emotionally or financially, or would they make the most selfless decision of their lives and place their daughter up for adoption? They chose the latter, but it was not an easy decision. They chronicled their decision on the subsequent seasons of Teen Mom.
Catelynn Lowell gave birth to her daughter, Novalee Reign, on New Year’s Day. Like fellow MTV reality show star Kailyn Lowry, Catelynn Lowell has decided to breastfeed. She recently gave fans an update on how that is going for her.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Catelynn and Tyler did not copy Kourtney Kardashian in choosing the name “Reign.” Cate revealed that they had the name picked out long before the famous Kardashian did. She also revealed that, if she had given birth to a son, they would have named him Greyson Wayne. Interestingly, Catelynn also revealed that it was connected to Batman, something that Tyler Baltierra loves.
Catelynn Lowell revealed that she initially had issues with breastfeeding. Kailyn Lowry opened up to BestForBabes.org about breastfeeding with her second son, Lincoln. Breastfeeding was difficult for her with her first son, Isaac. However, the Teen Mom 2 star did not give up and was successful her second time around.
“In the beginning, Lincoln didn’t want to latch on so we used a nipple shield for a while. Then I faced supply issues but both things were able to be worked on. What I learned was that these are not signs that a mother can’t breastfeed. We just have to find ways around them. I love nursing this time and even when I have hit obstacles, emotionally I wasn’t /am not ready to be done nursing.”
Now with her own clothing line, Kailyn Lowry continues to support breastfeeding through her t-shirts.
Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra will be back on Teen Mom which is set to premiere February 2. Their new bundle of joy, Novalee, will be a big part of their storyline.
