Liam Payne: Where Is The One Direction Star?
One Direction star Liam Payne seems to have dropped off the face of the earth. Hunky Liam is normally very active on social media. Like his bandmates, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik every move Liam makes is reported in the gossip columns but things have been unusually quiet in recent weeks. With just weeks to go before Liam joins One Direction on tour, the star seems to have gone missing.
It was reported in Inquisitr back on January 3 that Liam had splashed out £5.1 million on a new home for himself and £400K for a place for his parents. Since then it would seem that Liam has only been spotted in public once, and he has been unusually quiet on social media. After a rush of photographs and tweets around Christmas time, Liam has been absent from Twitter since January 4 when he posted a somewhat bizarre emoji tweet of just two eyes.
Perhaps this is an oblique reference to the fact that Liam Payne feels he is constantly being watched. The Mirror has reported that Liam had moaned in the past about people knowing where he lives in London’s Docklands.
The Independent report that Liam did venture out to a basketball game. Liam was amongst a host of stars watching Milwaukee Bucks 95-79 beating of New York Knicks at London’s o2 Arena in their regular season fixture away from the US on January 15. On that occasion, the Mirror made much of Liam’s appearance saying that Liam had changed quite a bit in the last few months.
They remarked “the megastar almost went completely unnoticed as he attended a basketball game last night. The 21-year-old appeared with fuller cheeks as well as newly acquired facial hair – while his own hair has grown out.”
Over the course of last summer, Liam’s weight was hotly debated after images emerged of him on holiday with his girlfriend, Sophia Smith. Many critics accused him of being overweight. On that occasion, Liam responded by posting a picture of himself with his cheeks puffed out and his T-shirt stuffed to make him appear large than life.
He captioned it: “I mean OH MY GOD I’m just so fat these days I think I need help! Quick someone take the cookie jar”.
Yahoo! Celebrity has made much of Liam’s lack of a public presence in recent weeks and even questioned whether the somewhat overweight and glum looking person at the basketball game was even Liam. The have jokingly demanded that Liam post a selfie every day so that we can keep track of his changing looks.
It may be the case that Liam is just lying low before he jets off on tour with One Direction, but his fans will be anxious to know that he is well.
