Starbucks Drive-Thru Customer Orders As ‘Sling Blade’

If you’ve ever worked in food service, the title of this one might make you roll your eyes a little at first. After all, a Starbucks drive-thru, especially when it’s busy, isn’t a place you really want to be pranked. Still, this YouTuber’s impression of Billy Bob Thornton‘s character Karl Childers, or Sling Blade as he is nicknamed in the movie, might get a laugh out of you even if it makes you cringe to think of getting this order at rush hour.

Some Redditors — where the video first began to gain traction toward its more than 800,000 views — disparaged the impression of Sling Blade, saying that the Starbucks drive-thru customer was nowhere near pulling off his impression of Thornton’s character. You can watch below to decide for yourself if you think the Starbucks prankster was passing for Sling Blade or not.

Totally unrelated to the Starbuck drive-thru, Sling Blade was a drama about a man released from a mental hospital years after murdering his mother. It was Billy Bob’s breakthrough role, launching him into stardom. Not only did Thornton score an adapted screenplay win and best actor nomination at the Oscars, the film grossed more than $24 million worldwide, twenty-four times its original budget.

What did you think of the Starbucks drive-thru customer’s Sling Blade impersonation?
