Woman Fakes Her Death To Get Out Of The Fourth Date With A Man She Met Online

Online dating can be difficult when messages and photos are exchanged rather than face to face conversations. When a potential couple finally meets, it can potentially take a couple dates to decide whether the couple is compatible enough to continue with the relationship. A Somerset woman that met a man online realized, after three dates, that she wasn’t all that into the man and decided to end the relationship before the fourth date. Rather than call him up and break it off, she decided to go another route, faking her own death. The man was in shock over the tragic turn of events, until he saw her on another dating site a few months later.

Anna Gray, a 29 year old woman, decided to find love on a dating site, hoping to bypass the bar scene and find a compatible match the high-tech way. In the process, she met a man that seemed to have a lot in common with her, so the online conversations continued. After a short time, she decided to meet him for a date night. Everything seemed to go well, so Anna agreed to a second date, then a third. However, instead of the third time being a charm, she started to feel that the two just were not compatible. She tried to distance herself, but the man continued to message her constantly. The messages became awkward and an abrupt message from the man made Anna decide to break things off for good, reported Metro U.K.

“He continued to message me and the day came when he sent me one stating ‘I think we need to have a date tonight! I will be around your house in 30 minutes.'”

Anna was shocked and unsure what to do with such a short notice, so she freaked out and did the first thing that came to mind. Anna quickly pretended to be her sister and messaged the man back, stating that Anna was rushed to the hospital with a serious illness and cancelled the date, according to the Mirror U.K. However, the concerned man continued to text the woman he now thought was the sister, hoping to visit Anna in the hospital. He went so far as to text from outside the hospital, ready to come up and visit. That is when Anna, posing as her own sister, dropped a bombshell. She replied, “I am really sorry to tell you but we lost her last night.”

The man stopped texting Anna after her “death,” until he noticed that she had a new profile on another dating site. Anna was embarrassed, but couldn’t blame him for being upset.

“He sent me a horrid message! Can’t say I blame him, really. I am currently engaged to be married and not dead!”
