Rumor: iPad 4 To Also Be Released In 2012

We haven’t even locked down all the details about the iPad 3 and talk about the iPad 4 starts to buzz about the Internet. According to Digitimes, the iPad 3 will ship in March which makes perfect sense while the iPad 4 will ship in October.

Yes, 2 tablets from Apple in the same year. Again, this is a rumor and shouldn’t be taken as absolute fact. With that said, Digitimes seems to be correct about what we can expect to see with the iPad 3.

For some time now, the iPhone 4 and the new iPhone 4S, have had a retina display, a display of 960×640 pixels which is incredibly crisp and clear. It’s to no surprise that this same or similar HD display will be coming to the next generation iPad.

The iPad 3 is said to come with an incredible 1,536 x 2,048 pixels display and longer battery life, though is not clear if it will get any hardware improvements. Anyways, back to the iPad 4.

“The 9.7-inch iPad 4 is expected to come with much upgraded hardware specifications and integrated applications so as to compete with an array of Android-, Wintel- or WoA (Windows on ARM)-based tablet PCs to be released in the fourth quarter, said the sources.”

Apple has been known to release several new products per year so they could in fact release two iPad tablets in the same year. It’s, again, a rumor, but could very likely happen considering how much the tablet World is heating up.

The tech giant wants to remain the leader and that means pumping out new, high quality, and updated versions of existing products.
