Mike Tyson’s Vegas Woke Up to Bed Intruder in Vegas
On the subject of moments during which you thought you were certain to die, this guy probably has the most impressive story of all time- but he can’t tell anyone.
Yes, some enterprising would-be thief is missing out on crazy bragging rights, after it turned out that the swanky Vegas hotel room he broke into was being occupied by none other than heavyweight champ Mike Tyson. And what’s worse is that Tyson- who is known to be a bit of a loose cannon- was actually sleeping in the room at the time of the break-in. Would you have totally peed your pants?
The aborted break-in occurred New Year’s Eve at the fancy Cosmopolitan Hotel on the Vegas strip. The luxe property is a celebrity favorite despite its relative newness to the Vegas landscape, and boasts amazing restaurants, upscale shops and bustling nightlife. Tyson had been to the Stevie Wonder concert earlier in the evening at the Cosmo, and was snoozing peacefully when the unlucky burglar disturbed his rest. TMZ says:
We’re told Tyson was sleeping like a baby … when all of a sudden, he awoke to rustling sounds and saw a flashlight. But by the time Iron Mike realized what was happening, the intruder had already run out of the room… According to sources, security at the hotel was called and they are currently investigating the situation. Nothing was reported stolen from the room… A rep for the hotel tells TMZ, “We have received a report of an incident that is currently under investigation. As always, guest safety is of the utmost importance.”
Which is almost too bad, because this story would have been hella more interesting if Mike Tyson caught the intruder before he had a chance to slip out.
