‘Deadliest Catch’ Star Puts Guy In Bathroom Headlock, Criminal Complaint Filed

Discover channels “badass” Samoan has landed himself in hot water. According to reports Feleti “Freddy” Maugatai, a star of the popular Deadliest Catch reality TV show, placed an Alaskan man in a headlock in a bathroom brawl at the Aleutian Hotel on December 16.

The man’s wife went to check on her husband when she told police in a report that she witnessed Freddy squeezing her husband around the neck and head. In response Maugatai was charged with misdemeanor assault.

In her report the wife says she tried to free her husband but Freddy grabbed her arm “forcefully” and then shoved her hard across the restroom.

Police who first arrived on the scene noted that the female appeared to have bruising and swelling on her arm.

Telling her part of the story Freddy told police the other guy started the fight and he was simply defending himself after the man punched him in the face.

Since the time of the incident Freddy has been told to stay away from the hotel, the man he placed in a headlock and the man’s wife. He will appear in court later in the month to face charges.

Reps for the Discovery Network have made no comment and Freddy is not returning requests for more information at this time.
