“Rebel Pride” is reportedly a motto for a group of confederate Americans that are proud of its history of slavery and segregation. Further reports claim that the group represented by the motto proudly fly the Confederate flag.

The source further claims that rumors have been circulating for quite some time about Iggy being a “closet racist” that pretends to be a rapper for the money and the fame.

According to Media Takeout, the rumors about her being a racist started years ago when Azalea mentioned “slaves” and referred to herself as a “runaway slave master” in the song, “D.R.U.G.S.

“Tire marks, tire marks Finish line with the fire marks When the relay starts, I’m a runaway slave Master”

When her controversial lyric first made headlines, Iggy Azalea reportedly posted a lengthy letter addressing the issue and apologizing to the people that she may have offended with it.

“In all fairness, it was a tacky and careless thing to say and if you are offended, I am sorry. Sometimes we get so caught up in our art and creating or trying to push boundaries, we don’t stop to think how others may be hurt by it. In this situation, I am guilty of doing that and I regret not thinking things through more.”

Azalea also used her letter to clarify the lyric, stating that it was a “metaphoric take on an originally literal lyric” and that she was never trying to identify herself as a slave owner. Iggy further wrote that she did not hate any particular race and was hurt by the fact that people were being misled to believe that she did.

“I am for unity and equality. People should get a fair shot at whatever they want to do no matter what color they are; rap and hip hop as a culture is not exempt from this.”

Fans and critics that do not believe Iggy Azalea is a racist may reference the fact that her mentor (T.I.) and her boyfriend (Nick Young) are both African-American. There is a substantial number of people on Twitter taking a stand on one side of the debate or the other while some have decided to stay on neutral ground.
